Povidone-iodine 10% 200 ml
Povidone-iodine is an antiseptic solution widely used in hospitals, medical centers and homes. It is composed of polyvinylpyrrolidine, hydrogen iodide and elemental iodine, and contains between 9% and 12% iodine.
How does povidone iodine work?
Povidone iodine works by releasing iodine, which kills many types of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
Uses of povidone iodine
Povidone iodine is used in a variety of applications, including:
- Washing hands before surgery or other medical procedures
- disinfecting wounds and burns
- Skin disinfection before injection or catheterization
- Skin cleansing before cosmetic procedures
- Skin cleansing from scars
- Skin cleansing from skin lesions
How to use povidone iodine:
Povodin-iodine is used on the skin only, by applying it to the affected area using a clean piece of cotton.
Dosage and method of use:
Apply a thin layer of povidone-iodine solution to the affected area two or three times a day.
Contraindications of povidone iodine:
Povodin-Iodine is not used in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to iodine or any of the components of the preparation.
- Open wounds or burns.
- Sensitive areas, such as eyes, nose and ears.
